Los cineastas Patrick Mario Bernard y Pierre Trividic nos han acostumbrado a un cine tan atípico como cautivador. En L'autre (ganadora del premio a la mejor interpretación femenina en el Festival de Venecia 2008) y Dancing , por ejemplo, huían de todo convencionalismo y optaban por presentar atmósferas de extrañeza cuasi metafísicas, a medio camino entre la realidad y la ficción. Blind spot sigue esa línea, utilizando el recurso de una supuesta invisibilidad de extraño origen para construir un turbio y desasosegante relato sobre, precisamente, los invisibles. Pero no esos invisibles a los que nos tiene habituados el género fantástico, sino los que pueblan las calles del mundo real: los inmigrantes, los negros, los marginados… en definitiva, los nadies. El empeño por acercarse a un realismo casi naturalista —alentado por la densidad casi palpable de la fotografía nocturna de Jonathan Ricquebourg—, hace que el punto de partida fantástico se asuma con una naturalidad desoladora. La brillantez, la originalidad y el buen gusto de la dirección componen una película fascinante de lacerante trasfondo existencialista.


Dominick has the gift of invisibility, but that doesn't make his life any better. In fact, he even hides his power from his loved ones, as if it were some kind of disease. It becomes increasingly harder for him to keep his ability under control, and that threatens his relationships and his stability.

Filmmakers Patrick Mario Bernard and Pierre Trividic have gotten us used to atypical and captivating cinema. In The Other One (which won the Best Female Actress award at the 2008 Venice Film Festival) and Dancing , for example, they steered clear from convention and chose to introduce atmospheres with an almost metaphysical oddness, midway between reality and fiction. Blind Spot follows that same line, using the resource of an alleged invisibility with an unknown origin to build a disturbing and uneasy story on actually invisible people. Not the invisible people that generally inhabit the fantasy genre, but those who walk the streets of the real world: immigrants, black people, outcasts… basically, the nobodies. The determination to reach an almost naturalistic realism—encouraged by the nearly palpable heaviness of Jonathan Ricquebourg's night cinematography—, makes the fantasy starting point take on a devastating naturalness. The brilliance, originality and good taste of the directors make up a fascinating film with a piercing existentialist reflection.

Artista visual y compositor formado en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de París. Su trabajo con Trividic comenzó en 1996 con Le cas Lovecraft para el canal France 3. Desde entonces no han dejado de trabajar juntos.

He is a visual artist and composer who graduated from the Paris École des Beaux-Arts. His work with Trividic started in 1996 with Le cas Lovecraft for the France 3 channel. They have been working together ever since.

Pierre Trividic

Tras estudiar Derecho e Historia del Arte, Trividic completó sus estudios en el Institut Des Hautes Études Cinématographiques. Junto a Bernard escribió y dirigió, entre otros, los largometrajes Ceci est une pipe (2001) y L'autre (2008).

After studying Law and Art History, Trividic finished his studies at the Institut Des Hautes Études Cinématographiques. Along with Bernard, he wrote and directed the features This Is a Pipe (2001) and The Other One (2008), among others.
