Silvia visita Moscú a fines de los 60, con el régimen soviético en su esplendor. Allí conoce los complejos de diseño estructuralista pensados para albergar a las familias obreras. Al volver a Buenos Aires, descubre que en los edificios que construye la cooperativa El Hogar Obrero anida el mismo espíritu colectivista. Abrazando el ideal del socialismo, Silvia abandona todo, incluso esposo e hijos, para mudarse a uno de estos departamentos y escribir una novela en la que proyecta retratar a sus más de 200 propietarios. Poco después viaja a Italia y su rastro se pierde para siempre. Medio siglo más tarde, una sobrina encuentra sus manuscritos y decide concretar desde el cine lo que quedó inconcluso en la literatura. Combinando material de archivo con escenas de los actuales habitantes.


Silvia visits Moscow at the end of the 60s, with the Soviet regime in its splendor. There she gets to know the structuralist complexes designed for house working-class families. Upon returning to Buenos Aires, she discovers that the same collectivist spirit resides in the buildings that the cooperative El Hogar Obrero builds. Embracing the ideal of socialism, Silvia abandons everything, including her husband and children, to move into one of these apartments and write a novel in which she plans to portray its more than 200 owners. Shortly after she travels to Italy and her trace is lost forever. Half a century later, a niece finds her manuscripts and decides to materialize with the medium of cinema what was left unfinished in her literature.
